Blackleach Reservior is an ideal fishing venue if you live in close proximity to Bolton, Farnworth, Walkden or Salford. The venue stocks carp, pike, bream, roach, crusian carp and perch, according to the locals, its a fishing water certainly worth trying and the tench fishing is excellent on its day. There's plenty of parking spaces and unlike some waters I know, its only a short walk from the car park so, you've no need to limit yourself on the tackle you take. Whilst there we noticed very little litter and the banks were well looked after, I took a few pictures to share with you, hope you like them.
I've been meaning to visit Blackleach and try my hand at a full days fishing, we did think about it last year but was busy fishing other venues and concentrating on our new Bit Bashing 2 DVD. As you can see from the pictures its a windy/cloudy day but the rain held off while we was there, thank god.
One of the locals informed me that Blackleach Res was run by Farnworth Anglers however, you were also allowed to pay £2.00 for a day ticket on the bank, considering the fish that reside here its certainly sounds competitive enough to me.
Walking around Blackleach can be very enjoyable especially on a nice day, although there are a lot of dog walkers present the dog mess is down to a minimum which cant be a bad thing especially if your a fisherman (nothing worse than standing in that stuff and having it on your shoe all day). The banks are sloping down and when wet can be very slippy as can the platform you fish from, see below.
