The Bunk is a fantastic
venue and holds some incredible fish, not to long ago a friend of mine
landed a 10lb silver coloured bream from this water, not to mention the carp he
caught as well. There are quite a few species of fish on this venue
ranging from carp, bream, tench, roach, perch and pike so there is
everything for everybody in here and is well worth a visit.
Hot Fishing Spots:
Fishing can be very good all round this venue however I
tend to fish from where the picture was taken (left above) as this is a
really good place for pike which I fish for when on this complex, the
pike I believe go up to 20lb.
Best Baits:
When fishing for pike I would recommend you used either
Sardine or Smelt, both baits are very productive on this water. For
other species try feeders for the bream, maggot, caster, worm and bread
for all other types of fish. Carp will take boilies and small PVA bags
but don't over do it.
Disability Access:
Disability access is not to dandy however if accompanied
by somebody, access would be a little easier, you can see from the
picture above (right) that the banks are very narrow and the other side
is worse.
Car Parking:
There is ample car parking, fishermen tend to leave cars
on the roadside.
Where to find The Bunk:
The Bunk can be found using you Manchester A-Z on page
33 grid reference E2 just follow the road as far as you can go.
The all important prices:
The Bunk comes under rule of Bolton anglers and cost
£20.00 per year and is worth every penny, check out other Northwest
fishing waters
