Clifton Marina is probably one of the hardest waters
I have ever fished, it's a massive 15 acre clay pit, which was
developed in the late 60s/early 70s. The water is
stocked with various species, including carp, bream, roach, tench,
pike and perch, all fish are of specimen weights.
Day tickets and season tickets can be purchased on
the bank at £2.50 per day or £5.00 for the
24 hour session. Alternatively you may
purchase
a season ticket for a cracking price of £20.00.
Disability access is sound however, the banks can be a bit of a
nightmare when wet and I do advise people to be very careful
especially if fishing alone. There are a variety of baits you can
use on the water and all have been tried and tested, people tend to
use particle baits such as tiger nuts, maze, maple peas and so on
for the carp.
Clifton Mariner holds an island,
when you walk on the venue the
first thing you see is this island and carp springs to mind,
this is not always the case. The island over the years has been
fished that much by other anglers, I'm sure the carp associate it as
a danger zone. When fishing at Clifton
Marina you have to take a Spod rod to be in with a real
chance of enticing fish into your swim, the carp seem to like lots
of bait, so do the bream LOL.
