The helicopter rig

The Helicopter rig:

The helicopter rig is another of my favourite carp fishing rigs. This particular kind of rig is mostly used when casting long distances and with its excellent anti tangle properties you can ensure your bait is out there as it should be. To set up a helicopter rig you need specific equipment and these are found in the picture below.

All the above equipment can be purchased from any good tackle shop. To set up this rig you first thread your main line through your anti tangle tubing, (Aprox 18" in length). You then need to thread a rubber or plastic bead on to your tubing, its much better if the bead is a tight fit. You then proceed to add the swivel bead which is or should be tied to the hook link, now tie your mainline to a weight which has a swivel attached. All you need to do now is cover everything up like I have in the picture below.
