Other than the Semi Fixed bolt rig, the Korda
Safety Clip is one of my most favourite rigs I use when carp
fishing. Below you will find a pictured description of how to
set up a Korda Safety Clip. First of all from top left below are
the tools you will need to set up the following rig. Pictured
middle is the Korda Safety Clip and pictured right is how they
are connected together.
Take your main line and thread on your anti
tangle tubing as I have pictured middle below, now take the
Korda safety clip and thread this on the same way again as I
have done in the picture below right.
Ok you should now have something that looks
similar to the picture below left, it's now time to add your
swivel in this case I am using a size 8s which fits very snug in
the Korda clip. Once you have tied your swivel using your
preferred knot you should have something pictured like below
right.
It's now time to add the weight of your choice
in this case I have chosen to use a 3oz pear shaped weight as I
would use this rig when fishing either weedy areas or on flat
gravel beds. Simply attach the weight to the clip as I have done
in the picture blow (right), you can now push the swivel snugly
in the housing of the clip.
Once you have achieved this you can add your
hook link and preferred bait, the hook link I have chose is 15lb
Amnesia so the rig is a semi stiff rig, now I think I
should inform you of a good practice to carry out when using
this method as the rig it's self was designed for when under
pressure from either heavy weed or just snags in general the
weight will flick off thus preventing the fish from swimming
round with not only a rig in it's mouth but a weight as well.
The picture below shows where the weight is
mounted on the Korda Safety clip I have bent the weight housing
out a little to point this out, a good tip and good practice is
to snip off with scissors about half the length of this housing
then push on the rubber grommet this will hold the weight firmly
in place. By carrying out this procedure you will ensure the
weight comes off once under pressure, I hope it works for you.
(The above type of rig can be bought from any decent tackle
shop)

Other Basic Rigs
Below are some pictures of other types of rigs
we use at Uncut Fishing and in the cases below there is no need
for any anti tangle tubing, the rig works really well and has no
way of tangling up. The bead is to take away the shock off the
weight when your casting or reeling in, you can also use this
method for pike fishing as well.
Choosing the right weight for the right bottom
your fishing is very important; example it would be a complete
waste of time using a bullet weight if your where fishing on a
ledge as the weight would just roll off. It is a good idea to
take a selection of weights with you just in case you need them.
Boom Rig
This is another supper rig used for carp fishing
and is also used in the sea fishing fraternity. The rig has
excellent anti tangle properties once set up correctly and when
a fish is hooked it feels minimum resistance.
