Whiteheads Lodges:
Whiteheads lodges are situated in Lower Croft in
Ainsworth nr Bury. There are three waters at Whiteheads and all are
quite good to fish. Although I have only ever fished the bottom
lodge, people have told me about the fish which they have caught
from the other two waters. The bottom lodge pictured below is the
one which holds the carp, the biggest being around 27.5lb. It is here
where I have had great success by catching all but one carp from
this water.
This particular water not only houses carp but
bream, pike and roach are also very often caught from here. The
water used to be run by Radcliffe Anglers Association however the water holds a
Dam wall which needed lots of money spending on it and Radcliffe
Anglers decided against renewing their contract, therefore a local
business man stepped in and took responsibility of the waters.
Disability Access:
Disability access is not very good, there is short
walk to the bottom lodge and a long walk to the other two waters as
well as a few fences to climb over.
